“The Dutch On Tour” Supercar Challenge

The Dutch based series took to the famous GP Circuit last weekend and there was some stunning machinery along with some spectacular racing in some very difficult weather conditions – heavy rain showers saturated both the weekends 65 minute races.

Two practice sessions enabled teams and drivers time to sort any niggles and to try and find the right settings for the two qualifying periods. Quali is divided with different classes taking to the track at different times helping drivers get clearer runs and in theory less hold ups, the GT’s heading out first…

The meeting offered a varied programme for spectators and support races came in the form of the Sports 2000’s, Duratec’s and Pinto’s who competed over a 50 minute mini endurance race and also the Radical Challenge Championship which is always fast, hectic and full on racing. Also out lining up on the grid, the F3 Championship, Quaife Modified Saloons and a fantastic field of over 40 cars competing in the MSVT Trackday Championship, the Porsche Club Championship and the Classic Sports Car Club’s Classic K series.

Apart from the changeable weather conditions the weekend was an enjoyable one with good mix of racing, my only gripe, where were the Day-V Tec Volvo S60’s?
