Oulton Park Testing Roundup

With the start of the 2018 season just a month away, teams and drivers are making their final preparations for the arrival of spring and racing to begin again…

Oulton Park has seen cars from a wide variety of series out testing over the past few days, with everything from a Ginetta G40 to a GT3 specification Aston Martin taking to the track.

All attention at the test was on Billy Monger, the youngster returning to single seaters for the first time since his horrific accident at Donington Park last April. The Carlin team gave Monger a run in a BRDC Formula 3 car as the first part of an extensive testing programme as he battles back from amputations to both his legs. The test marked a personal victory from Monger, who has successfully overturned an FIA rule which prevented disabled drivers from taking part in single seater racing.

Other notable testers included WEC champion Jonny Adam in the Optimum Motorsport Aston Martin he will share with Flick Haigh in British GT this season, as well as the Team Parker Racing Bentley also bound for a British GT campaign.
