BRITISH RALLYCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 2 at Lydden Hill

This Bank Holiday Monday (2nd April)Lydden Hill held round 2 of the British Rallycross Championship.

Early morning rain gave way to much finer weather giving drivers the oppertunity for some hard driving.

09.00 saw the MSA juniors first out on circuit for a 3-lap practice session with the MSA Supernational, MSA British, other classes and the RS150’s practicing over the next hour and 20 minutes.

Morning qualifying for all drivers was hampered by heavy rain with Michael Boak in his Citroen C2 S1600 suffering severe rear end damage after a skid coming out of Canterbury Straight.

Qualifying rounds continued throughout the morning and early afternoon. The afternoon saw heavy rain returning making the finals treacherous but it was Morgan Bailey and Roger Thomas who took the spoils in the Swift Sport Rallycross Championship and Retro Rallycross Championship respectively, with Chrissy Palmer rounding out the list of winners with an RX150 triumph.

The Toyo Tires MSA British Rallycross Championship is next in action at Croft on May 6.
