Thousands Descend on Bolesworth Estate for CarFest North

Sellout crowds flocked to the Cheshire venue for a weekend of cars, live music and delicious food. The festival was hosted by BBC Radio 2 presenter, Chris Evans.

A brilliant atmosphere greeted the festival goers with most heading to the main stage to listen to the live music as the sun dropped below the horizon and into the night.

Those who attended the festival were treated to an unmissable lineup of singers and bands including George Ezra, The Proclaimers, Jules Holland, Bannarama, Razorlight, Billy Ocean, Status Quo and many more. The lineup for Sunday night included the CarFest Supergroup comprised of acts such as The Feeling, Natalie Imbruglia and Ricky Wilson.

There was also the Wigwam stage that featured many up and coming acts, fans really enjoyed the compact tent setup which created a brilliant feel good atmosphere for the young performers.

Also at the show was “The Paddock” which showed a great selection of cars from Ferraris to “Ed’s Bed”. Throughout the weekend each car took to the speed stage in front the thousands of spectators watching, some drivers even took time to stop and treat the onlookers to a burnout or some doughnuts.

Many car manufacturers took the opportunity to show off their latest models; Jaguar brought their latest i-Pace electric performance SUV, Aston Martin brought a selection of its most luxurious sports cars, and Subaru even set up a mini off road course for show goers to test out the off road capabilities of its new XV.

No one was to go hungry at the festival – there was a vast selection of food stalls that sold everything from local fish and chips to Thai food and Mexican Fajitas. The bars were full and everyone was in high spirit enjoying themselves sensibly.

Three Guinness World Records were broken on “Guinness World Record Sunday” including the ‘world’s largest human Fleur-de-Lis’ which was led by Bear Grylls who arrived earlier in the day in a helicopter. The other two records were the ‘most people head banging simultaneously’ as well as ‘most blueberries stuffed in a mouth’.

CarFest continues to support BBC Children in Need, having raised over £10.5 million for the charity in the last six years. CarFest South takes place in Laverstoke Park Farm, Hampshire on 24th-26th August.
