BARC Race Meeting at Brands Hatch

Brands Hatch welcomed the BARC to a Sunny Kent circuit last weekend (22-23/06/2019) as several categories prepared to battle for top honours on the famous Indy Circuit.

Caterham Graduates Championship SigMax First honers went to Samuel Wilson who took the chequered flag, bringing his Caterham 7 SigMax home with a 10 second gap over 2nd placed Steven McMaster. Stephen Clarke followed close behind to take 3rd. Stephen Clarke went on to take the top step of the podium in the second SigMax race of the weekend just beating Harry Senior to the line by 0.161 of a second. Steven McMaster again made the podium finishing 3rd.

Caterham Graduates Championship-Sigma/Mega/Classic Barry White was to dominate winning both of the weekends races. In the first, White was chased all the way taking the flag with a gap of 0.082 to Chris Dear. 3rd went to Jonathan Curry. White and Dear once again took the top two steps of the podium during the second of the weekends races with Kevin Barrett crossing the line in 3rd half a lap down.

2CVParts.com Classic Racing Championship The spoils where shared on this the penultimate round of the championship between Alec Graham and reigning champion Pete Sparrow. Pete Sparrow’s 2019 title fight took a knock in the first race , failing to finish after completing 13 laps of the Indy circuit. With Sparrow’s demise Alec Graham inherited the lead narrowly beating Lien Davies to the line. Nick Crispin came in 3rd. Pete Sparrow bounced back with a win in their last outing of the weekend taking the flag ahead of Alec Graham who brought his 2CV home just under a second behind. 3rd went to Lien Davies who fought hard all the way.

Max 5 Racing Championship The first of the weekends wins went to Paul Roddison in a MK4 MX5 crossing the line just ahead of Ian Loversidge also in a MK4. Andew Pretorius completed the podium. The top two positions went once again to Roddison and Loversidge in the second of the weekends races, 3rd went to Jeremy Shipley.

Other News Craig Rainer took both the days BARC Saloons Series wins in his Mk2 Escort and in Classic VW Cup & VTEC Series Ben Rushworth in the Honda Integra won both of the day’s outings.
