NGRRC Thruxton

The final on track action at Thruxton took place this past weekend, the North Gloucester Road Racing Club took to the track for some serious 2-wheeled battles…

A wet and windy day didn’t lend itself to blistering laps but close racing filled the schedule. Riders rode bikes from all eras, many throwing their legs over the latest superbikes from Ducati, Suzuki and Aprillia, and others taking to the track on pre-injection models and naked/ street fighters. Sidecars also made an appearance, with fearless co-pilots skimming the tarmac to balance the bikes through the turns.

The racing culminated in the Phoenix Open and Sound of Thunder races, both featuring close action throughout. Josh Day and his fluro Kawasaki ZX10R dominated both Phoenix Open races, whilst Dave McKay held the pack off in multiple 3-way battles to win the Sound of Thunder races on his very unique KTM RC8. Dave was representing the popular and well turned out True Heroes Racing, a team of ex-armed forces members who bought a squad of Ducati’s and the aforementioned KTM to Thruxton.
