Younessi Racing Ramps Up For Silverstone

The 2013 BLANCPAIN endurance series arrives at Silverstone this weekend, and McLaren MP4-12C driver Rodin Younessi of Molitor Racing Systems confident in performance.

MIAMI, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES – MAY 31, 2013 – Rodin Younessi (USA) of Molitor Racing Systems will share the work behind the wheel of the team’s McLaren MP4-12C for the second round of the Blancpain Endurance Series this weekend at Silverstone. Younessi is competing in the series’ PRO-AM CUP.

The three hour, multi-class endurance race, taking place Sunday June 2nd at Silverstone Circuit, will be a head-to-head encounter with a starting grid of 60 GT3 cars in the hands of the best teams from Europe. The 2013 season opener at Monza in April had its ups and downs for Younessi and the MRS team. However, the team’s McLaren MP4-12C is prepared to outperform the competition in Northamptonshire’s unpredictable weather.

“With our team’s commitment and dedication, I am confident in our ability to show great performance this weekend at Silverstone,” said Rodin Younessi, driver-team owner of Younessi Racing.

A familiar face to GT paddocks across the globe is also at Silverstone this weekend as Mika Salo was a surprise last minute replacement for Kiril Ladygin in the #71 SMP Racing Ferrari 458 Italia.

The ex-Tyrrell, Arrows, Lotus, BAR and Ferrari F1 driver will share with Russian duo Devi Markozov and Victor Schaiter.

After this weekend at Silverstone, the 2013 Blancpain Endurance Series continues at Paul Ricard (June 29-30), the prestigious 24 hours of Spa-Francorchamps (July 24-28), and the series-ending, Nürburgring 1000km (September 21-22).
