Major HSCC 50th display planned for Autosport

The Historic Sports Car Club (HSCC) have announced that they will be launching the clubs 50th Anniversary season at Autosport, the UK’s largest motorsport show at the NEC in January (14th to 17th) with a large display of historic racing cars…

Star of the display will arguably be the stunning Jaguar D-Type raced by Neil Corner and the ultimate winner of the inaugural Griffiths Formula race at Castle Combe in May 1966 – this was the race that led to the foundation of the club. Also on the stand will be the cars that finished 2nd and 3rd at this same meeting, the Lotus Mk10 and the Aston Martin DB3S.

The stand will feature around 8 cars that form part of the history of the club and its story that will also include the HSCC chairman Frank Lyons very own Gurney Eagle FA74 and McLaren M26 Grand Prix car. Also on display will be a Chevron B19, Historic FF Jamun T2, Can-Am McLaren M8E, Cooper Bristol MkII and from the clubs Super Touring Trophy, the well-known Honda Accord.

The club have said that during the Autosport show, that they will release more details of its three key 50th anniversary season race meetings which will be held at Castle Combe (16/17 April), Brands Hatch (2/3 July) and Oulton Park (27-29 August).
