BARC Yorkshire Speed and Montague Burton Trophy

The British Automobile Racing Club (BARC), Yorkshire Centre held two events over the weekend of 5th and 6th August for the Yorkshire Speed Trophy & Montague Burton Trophy at Harewood Hillclimb.

Saturday we had two practice runs followed by three time runs and on Sunday two practice runs and four timed runs for most competitors. Thankfully both days kept dry but with a cool wind keeping the clouds moving, this kept the track temperatures down.

Joining the regulars from the Harewood Speed Hillclimb Championship, this time were competitors from Austin Healey Speed Championship and a large number of Caterham 7’s competing in the Lotus 7 Club Speed Championship.

In the Harewood Speed Hillclimb Championship after six rounds, Sarah Bosworth (Lotus Elise) has a nine point lead over Tracy Taylor West (Lotus Elise) and Gordon Riley (Toyota Starlet) both on 108.36 points followed by Ben Lovell on 106.55.

John Chacksfield still leads the Harewood FTD Championship by nine points from Dave Banner both in OMS 28’s. Dave has a 16 point lead over Ben Lovell in an OMS SC4CF.
