AMOC Racing Brands Hatch Indy Circuit

The Aston Martin Owners Club made it’s yearly pilgrimage to Brands Hatch at the weekend (23/06/2018) with a mixed bag of motor racing.

Not the event that it use to be, it was still a good day with large grids from the BMW Car Club Racing Series and the always good to view the Equipe GTS & Pre 63’s.

Pole sitter Gary Hufford took the top step of the podium in the BMW Car Club Racing Series, the first victory of the day in Race 1 and in race 2 Rob Cull in his nicely turned out MGA took the Equipe Pre 63 victory while John Person and his Austin Healey 3000, although starting from pole position, suffering a DNF.

In GT Challenge (Race 3), with only eight cars on the grid, Graham Tilley and his Ginetta G55 Supercup qualified first on the grid and ran away with the GT Challenge win.

Race 4, the days second time out for the BMW Car Club Racing Series, Gary Hufford once again started from pole position and adding another 1st place trophy to his trophy cabinet.

Race 5, the Equipe GTS with a 30 plus car grid, Mark Ashworth and his TVR Grantura starting on pole and leading the race from the start only to suffer a DNF on lap 16. Mark Holm went on to take victory in the MGB.

Robert Hollyman and his porsche 964 took the race 6 AMOC Intermarque Challenge win and in race 7, the Jack Fairman & XK Challenges, Steve watton in his yellow Turner Sports taking victory with Mark Ellis in the MGA TC 2nd and the pole sitting car, the mighty Allard J2 of Oliver LLewellyn finishing 3rd.

Not a bad day at the races, the weather was fine and bright, just a shame there was not much in the way of Aston Martin’s on track.
