Classic Motorcycle Racing Club Oulton Park

The Classic Motorcycle Racing Club returned to Oulton Park for the first time in over 10 years over the late May Bank Holiday weekend (26th-28th May).

The club organised a packed two day meeting, featuring 30 races for 11 classes of classic bikes, alongside several parades for road-going machines. Catergories for all sorts classic bikes had three races across the weekend, with everything from 1980s Superbikes to 1950s Grand Prix machinery catered for.

Topping the bill were a race apiece for the ACU Classic 500cc series and the ACU Post Classic series. The 500cc machines went first with the feature race on Saturday afternoon, with Richard Molnar taking the win by just 0.165 seconds aboard his stunning Molnar Manx from Joe Barton’s Minnovation 500.

The ACU Post Classic runners had the top billing in Monday’s action, and the race was again closely fought, with Hudson Kennaugh winning by just 0.141 seconds from Phil Atkinson, the two Yamaha TZ350 riders swapping places several times throughout the eight-lap sprint race.

Molnar and Kennaugh would take other wins throughout the weekend, with Molnar taking the 500cc / Clubman & Goldstar victory, and Kennaugh winning the PC500, PC250GP & PC350 GP race on Monday afternoon.
