VMCC British Historic Racing Rounds 5 & 6 Lydden Hill

Over this scorching weekend(23/24 June) Lydden Hill held rounds 5 & 6 of the VMCC British Historic Racing event and the BSSO Memorial Race…

Way back on the 28th April 1946 a group of 38 motor cycle enthusiasts gathered at the Lounge Cafe, Hog’s Back, in Guildford, Surrey with an idea of forming a Motor Cycle club.

The VMCC was formed and the mission was to ensure that vintage machines would never end up in some dusty old museums but kept very much alive and kicking and out on track for all to see.

On track there was a massive 25 Championships to be run for the 2018 season, from solo riders to sidecar rider and passengers, Supermono riders to Racing 50 Club Riders.

With two motor cycle parades each day there was a great opportunity for race fans to see these stunning classic machines in action. Bikes from the late 1940’s through to the mid 2000’s were proudly on paraded.

The most important race over the weekend without a doubt was the BSSO Memorial Race. Held to remember all those riders sadly lost over recent years.
